Sirena Skirt

When I made this skirt, I wanted to create something feminine, but also something that reveals the real beauty and soul of a woman, even the scars.⁠ I felt the best way to express that was through using upcycled denim to show the imperfections and uniqueness in every part that was chosen and sewn together.⁠ In the shape of this piece, I really visualized a classic silhouette, a fishtail form that is inspired by vintage dresses where you see that feminine curve - fitted from the waist to the knee, then flaring out below… in this case, flaring asymmetrically to have some edge on it. It kind of reminds me of a modern woman, strong, classy, independent, yet still carrying that subtle touch of rebellion. I call this the Imperfect skirt.
